A Quick Note From Roots & Shadows | We’ll Be Back in a Few Weeks

Tonight’s episode of Roots & Shadows: The Real Appalachia is a little different.

Instead of our regular Appalachian true crime, folklore, or history story, I wanted to take a few minutes to speak directly to everyone who has been listening to the podcast and say thank you.

For the next few weeks, Roots & Shadows will be taking a short pause while my family and I take care of something that needs our attention.

This isn’t the end of the podcast — just a temporary break.

Since launching Roots & Shadows: The Real Appalachia, we’ve traveled through stories of Appalachian true crime, forgotten history, folklore, strange encounters, local legends, and real experiences shared by listeners from across the region and beyond.

The response to the show has been more than I ever expected, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has listened, shared an episode, followed the podcast, or trusted me with a story from their own family or community.

When we return, we’ll be coming back with a true-crime story I’ve been working on for some time. I’ve also had the opportunity to speak with members of the family connected to the case, which will allow us to tell parts of the story that go beyond newspaper articles and old records.

After that, we’ll return to our regular mix of Appalachian true crime, folklore, history, mysteries, and the stories hidden throughout these mountains.

If you’re new to Roots & Shadows, this is also a good time to go back through the feed and catch up on earlier episodes.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for helping preserve the stories of Appalachia.

We’ll be back soon.
